We recently received some information regarding Gap Medics (as following). This looks like an interesting opportunity for older students considering the medical field.

Information

Gap Medics are offering an exciting project for students that are looking to apply for university courses in either medicine, nursing, dentistry or midwifery.

Their placements operate in Tanzania, India, Thailand and the Caribbean.  Students can spend anything from 1 week to 4 weeks on placement with them.

The placements are designed for students aged 16 or older who are thinking of applying for a healthcare related degree to offer them much needed hospital work experience before they apply and to see if a career in healthcare appeals to them.

Gap Medics are the leading provider of short-term healthcare work experience placements abroad. They are based in the UK and programmes are open to all students from around the world.

During weekdays, students will shadow highly skilled doctors in their day-to-day work on a fully-supervised hospital placement. Students will also have the benefit of clinical teaching, safe and secure accommodation in their own students house, food, local transfers, local orientations, 24/7 support from Gap Medic teams overseas and in the UK and lots of help with preparations for their trip too.
