St. Catherines – leadership & scholarships

The following may be of particular interest to our female students.
A dynamic university educating students to lead and influence, St. Catherine prepares students to make a difference in their professions, their communities and the world. At the University’s heart is the largest, most innovative college for women in the nation.
Since our transition to university status in 2009, our schools and colleges have been strategically planning new programs to enhance our already strong academic reputation. One of these important developments is the accreditation of our Master of Library and Information Science program by The American Library Association. Our Anatomy and Physiology lab is currently being expanded and renovated to provide additional opportunities for our students in the health professions and we are launching a new Women’s Heath Integrative Research (WHIR) Center. Our Leadership Institute, which provides professional development programs and events for women from corporate, small business, government, education and nonprofit settings, has hosted leaders this year from Israel, Jordan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
Our international students, who hail from over 40 countries, continue to be exceptional in their academic achievements and leadership skills. We are proud to report that the Student Senate President next year will be Latifah Kiribedda, an international student from Uganda who is majoring in public health. In addition, this past year we hosted sponsored students through highly-competitive US Department of State programs administered by American Councils and IREX: International Research & Exchange Program and the Fulbright Africa Undergraduate Program, administered by IIE: The Institute for International Education.
We are very interested in working with you to provide academic opportunities and scholarships for your bright female students. Scholarship applications for undergraduate students should reach us by March 15, 2012 for the 2012-2013 academic year. Our scholarships are competitive and recipients must have excellent academic records and demonstrated involvement in extracurricular and leadership activities. Students can apply for admission on-line at: http://www.stkate.edu/ (click on Apply) or https://www.commonapp.org
