Substantial scholarship at SCAD

The Savannah College of Art and Design invites you to nominate outstanding high school seniors or undergraduate transfer students for the SCAD Distinguished Scholars award, a prestigious scholarship in the amount of US$20,000 per year.
In order to be considered for this award, students must be recommended by a teacher, professor or school counselor. This scholarship is applicable toward tuition to attend SCAD in Atlanta, Hong Kong, Savannah or online via eLearning, and may be renewed annually, provided the recipient is enrolled and maintains a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.
Teacher/counselor nominations and students’ completed application files (including transcript, official test scores and portfolio) must be received by Feb. 15, 2012.
Students need to meet or exceed the following:
- GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (app. an IB score of 36 or above)
- Outstanding visual arts, performing arts, writing or riding capabilities
- Honors and awards from competitions, or other recognition
- Leadership skills demonstrated through co-curricular or extra-curricular involvement
In order to be considered, nominees must complete all SCAD admission requirements prior to Feb. 15, 2012. Students should apply online at www.scad.edu/apply, and may use promo code EDREF to waive the application fee.
